Ophthalmologist expands access to cataract, glaucoma, and comprehensive eye care in Ormond Beach
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Florida Eye Specialists, the leading multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in Northeast Florida, today announced the addition of Austin Isaac, M.D., M.B.A., a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), office-based laser procedures, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and acute ocular conditions.
Dr. Isaac’s addition expands the range of ophthalmic services available to patients at Florida Eye Specialists’ Ormond Beach location, providing greater access to both surgical and medical eye care in a growing area of Volusia County. His clinical focus includes cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment and diabetic eye care, conditions that require ongoing monitoring and, in some cases, surgical intervention to protect or restore vision.

Dr. Isaac graduated with Honors from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Neuroscience and Spanish before earning his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia, where he served as Academic Chief Resident and gained experience managing a high volume of complex ophthalmic cases.
He also earned an M.B.A. with distinction from Cornell University, reflecting his interest in the intersection of medicine, leadership, and the future of global eye care.
Dr. Isaac specializes in cataract surgery, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, as well as office-based laser procedures, glaucoma management, diabetic eye disease, and acute ocular conditions. His approach to care is centered on providing personalized treatment and helping patients make informed decisions about their eye health.

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Isaac has also participated in medical missions in Peru, Guatemala and Honduras. Those experiences strengthened his commitment to providing ophthalmic care to underserved communities, a commitment he hopes to continue throughout his career. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
