More than 3 million Americans are currently living with glaucoma and it is one of the leading causes of blindness when left untreated. Finding a way to manage the disease has been difficult, but a recent device has been made bringing hope to glaucoma patients.
iStent, is the tiniest implantable device ever approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This iStent releases pressure from the eye. When implanted, patients cannot feel the device or even see it without a special microscope. The IStent also completely eliminates the need for eye drops.
