The second week of March 2016 is World Glaucoma Week, a time to raise awareness about the second leading cause of blindness. Glaucoma is a grouping of eye diseases where damage to the optic nerve leads to worsening vision loss. With early detection, many of the more serious symptoms of glaucoma can be treated, which has helped add years of sight for the elderly and those with a family history.
In honor of this week, Florida Eye Specialists will be offering FREE glaucoma screenings at four of our Jacksonville locations on Friday, March 11.
