Doctor Profile – Kimberly Riordan, OD

Meet Dr. Riordan

Kimberly Riordan, OD, graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University with a B.S. in biology and plans to attend the Illinois College of Optometry. After receiving her doctorate of optometry, she moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, to complete her residency in primary care at the William Chappell Jr. VA.

As a Florida board-certified optometrist, Dr. Riordan is able to both treat and manage ocular disease and provide post-operative care. While her professional passions include ocular disease, primary care, and fitting contact lenses for those with corneal degeneration, Dr. Riordan especially loves getting to know her patients and providing exceptional, compassionate care.

Dr. Riordan is a leader at Florida Eye Specialists as the head of the Dry Eye Center at the San Marco location. Outside of her professional life, she loves spending time with her family and friends and can be found cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars or the Chicago Bears.

Dry Eye Center

Dr. Riordan and her exceptional team at the Dry Eye Center offer full-service care for dry-eye patients every step of the way – from diagnosis to treatment.

Dry eye affects millions of people across every demographic, but is more common in women and older adults. Our specialists diagnose dry eye by measuring tear production and observing the eye with special stains. Treatment can include artificial tears and gels, plugs that block the drain and allow more tears to bathe the eye, and anti-inflammatory drops such as cyclosporine.

Symptoms of dry eye can vary from person to person, but most commonly include:

  • Periodic blurring of vision
  • Stringy mucus
  • Burning
  • Redness
  • Foreign Body Sensation (scratchy feeling in the eye)

If you think you might have dry eye, Dr. Kimberly Riordan and our team at the Dry Eye Center would be happy to help you. Dr. Riordan is passionate about both her work and her patients and will provide you with the top level of care.
