Adjustable Cataract Lens Treatments Now at Southpoint, Mandarin & Fernandina Beach
We are thrilled to announce that Florida Eye Specialists has acquired two additional state-of-the-art Light Delivery Devices for our Light Adjustable Lens™ procedures. These cutting-edge devices are now available at our Southpoint, Mandarin, and Fernandina Beach locations to better serve you after your cataract surgery.
Test Drive Your Vision With the Light Adjustable Lens
The Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) is a new cataract lens implant that can be adjusted after cataract surgery. This technology allows patients to test drive their vision and customize their prescription to their lifestyle, just like with glasses or contacts. Read about a patient’s firsthand experience with the procedure here.
After cataract surgery with the LAL, patients meet with their eye doctor to test their vision. They then preview and compare prescription changes to choose the option that looks best to them. Our experienced ophthalmologists use a series of up to three light treatments with a Light Delivery Device to customize the photosensitive material of the lens. Each treatment is painless and takes only minutes to complete.
Three Convenient Locations to Better Serve You
With three total Light Delivery Devices, Florida Eye Specialists is now the largest multi-device practice in the region. We proudly offer light treatments at our Southpoint, Mandarin, and Fernandina Beach locations to reduce your drive time and make the lens customization process more convenient wherever you live.
Our dedicated team is always staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the field of ophthalmology. Offering these new Light Delivery Devices is part of our commitment to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients.
See Better Than Ever With Cataract Surgery
Cataracts are a clouding of the clear lens of the eye. Thanks to modern advances in cataract surgery, patients can restore their vision and see better than ever. Cataract surgery can reduce dependency on glasses and make daily activities like reading and driving easy.
Advanced Laser Technology
Our experienced eye surgeons use the most advanced femtosecond LenSx laser available, resulting in a safer, gentler, and more precise procedure. It can even correct astigmatism.
Lenses to Match Your Lifestyle
Everyone’s vision needs are unique, so today’s cataract surgery is not one size fits all. With our sophisticated technology, procedures can be customized to find the best fit for you.
Customize Your Prescription
Our cataract surgeons were the first in the region to offer the Light Adjustable Lens implant that can fine-tune vision after cataract surgery.
“Every patient heals differently after cataract surgery, so it can be difficult to predict vision outcomes,” said CEO and managing partner Rajesh K. Shetty, MD. “With the Light Adjustable Lens, we now have the power to adjust a patient’s prescription until they see exactly how they want to.”
