An athlete’s success often depends on his or her ability to recognize sensory information and interpret it quickly, most especially visual information. The way an athlete responds to visual information can be the difference between a winning season and a losing one. The ability to maintain focus while processing moving visual stimuli is an ability that can separate elite athletes.

At Florida Eye Specialists, we use three-dimensional multiple object tracking speed tests with software called Neurotracker. Athletes have seen results very quickly with this method, often in as little as a few weeks, and these results have been transferable to the field or court.

Neuro Tracker

Neurotracker training quickly enhances mental performance. It enhances a wide range of abilities, including:

  • Alertness
  • Attention
  • Memory
  • Brainwave speed
  • Processing speed
  • Learning capacity

All of these skills can be transferred to help increase sports performance. The Neurotracker is a trusted training tool at Florida Eye Specialists. As the official eye care provider for the Jacksonville Jaguars, we’re using it to improve player performance across the board.

Cognitive Therapy

Visualization, or cognitive therapy, is the final step in our training regimen. We teach you the skills you need to see and achieve success.

If you think of the highest stress type of game, like game seven of the NBA finals, this is when the ability to get “in the zone.” During this time, elite athlete’s brains go into a certain state called alpha wave mode. During this mode, players are present, calm, focused, and alert. You can train your brain to go into this mode at will and stay there. In the alpha wave state, you make fewer errors and have more winning games.
