Katie Horan, O.D., is a board-certified optometrist who earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Florida State University, before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University. While there, she also earned a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science, building a strong foundation in comprehensive eye care.
During her clinical training, Dr. Horan completed externships in ocular disease and dry eye management, earning honors in both specialties — experience she draws on today to help patients manage some of the most common and often misunderstood eye health concerns.
Her commitment to advancing patient care began early. As a student, she was active in the American and Florida Optometric Student Associations, attending conferences, continuing education seminars, and specialized clinical trainings. Today, she remains a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association, reflecting her ongoing dedication to lifelong learning and providing patients with modern, up-to-date vision care.
A proud Jacksonville native, Dr. Horan is excited to return home and give back to the community that shaped her — protecting her patients’ vision and supporting their long-term health, one appointment at a time.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling, staying active, exploring Jacksonville’s local food and coffee scene, and cheering on her hometown Jacksonville Jaguars.
