Nickelle Kellough, O.D., is a board-certified optometrist specializing in the co-management of cataracts, retinal, and corneal diseases. Dr. Kellough values compassion and professionalism in patient care, ensuring a thoughtful and respectful approach to every case. With 23 years of experience in private, commercial, and academic settings, she brings a wealth of expertise to our practice.
Dr. Kellough studied pre-medicine at the University of Florida, where she was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-med honor society. While volunteering at an optometry practice in Gainesville, she decided to pursue a career in optometry. She earned her degree from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry, where she also completed her Bachelor of Vision Science.
During Dr. Kellough’s time at Nova Southeastern University, she was honored with the “Outstanding Academic Clinical & Leadership Achievement in Optometry” award. Dr. Kellough also served as adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry for six years, teaching ocular theory and exam skills, and was named “Preceptor of the Year” in 2015. Additionally, she received the “Clinical Excellence Award” from the Southern Council of Optometry during her final years of patient care at Nova Southeastern University clinics, Bascom Palmer in Miami, and the VA in Gainesville.
Before joining Florida Eye Specialists, Dr. Kellough worked for Eye Surgery Associates in Hollywood, FL, co-managing patients in her areas of specialty while providing routine eye care. She is excited to advance her career with Florida Eye Specialists, focusing on developing a strong patient base through patient rapport and education. She also looks forward to supporting the local optometric society in Northeast Florida.
Dr. Kellough is married and has three sons. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, biking, swimming, cooking, reading, and traveling.
